Primavera brings home MOP, 'Dogs fall 12-8

WACO, Texas - Â The No. 6 Fresno State equestrian team fell 12-8 at Baylor on Friday afternoon, dropping its second straight meet and falling to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 competition on the year.

Freshman Paloma Primavera earned her second fences Most Outstanding Performer honor of the season, and in back-to-back meets, with an 86 against the Bears.

How it happened
Baylor opened with a 4-1 win in the flat. The Bulldogs' point came by a 78-73.5 win from Molly Stewart. On the western side of the first half, Fresno State came out with a 3-2 reining win. Shelby Robinette won the first point of the event with a 70.75 to her opponent's 69.5. Alana Becker and Alison Heupel rounded out the scoring with points of their own. Brogan Hill had the highest score by a Bulldog with a 71.5, but was narrowly outscored with a 71.75.

The Bulldogs totaled four points in the second half with two in the fences and two in the horsemanship.

Hailey Olson and Ella Storch won their points in the horsemanship. Olson scored a 73 in her win while Storch scored a 75. Storch had the highest score by a Bulldog in the event. In the fences, Averey Pritchard opened up the event with a 75-63 defeat, and Primavera followed with her MOP ride in an 86-82 win. Baylor won the final three points to secure the win in the meet.
