FRESNO, Calif. - Randy Rigali was announced as the new Executive Director of the Bulldog Foundation/Assistant Athletic Director for Development on Monday.
"Randy Rigali brings an exceptional background in ticketing and revenue generation that will be instrumental as we build on our successes and prepare for our future in the Pac-12," said Fresno State Director of Athletics Garrett Klassy. "His experience with both collegiate and professional sports, coupled with his drive to serve our loyal Bulldog Foundation supporters, makes him a great fit to lead our development efforts. Randy's vision and commitment to customer service will help elevate the experience for all Fresno State fans and supporters."
Rigali comes to the Valley from Long Beach State where he helped lead ticket sales and revenue generation efforts. Rigali will start at Fresno State in early December.
"After conducting a national search, Randy emerged as the top candidate, bringing over a decade of combined experience in college athletics and professional sports," said Tyler Mariucci, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development. "His passion for joining the Fresno State community, coupled with his vision to provide exceptional customer service and growth opportunities for our donor base, made him the clear choice to help propel Fresno State into the Pac-12."
At Fresno State, Rigali will be responsible for leading the Bulldog Foundation's annual giving program, premium seating efforts, and will provide oversight of donor solicitation strategy, donor retention, donor acquisition, and stewardship efforts.
"My family and I are grateful for the opportunity to join the Red Wave and the Bulldog Foundation," Rigali said. "Fresno State Athletics exemplifies what Pride of the Valley means and how important it is to the community. I look forward to collaborating with our incredible donors, coaches and staff to add to its great history and tradition."
Rigali worked at Long Beach State in 2023 and managed outbound ticket sales and group events. His ticket sales unit generated $1.06 million in athletics ticket revenue for the 2023-24 campaign, marking the first time in school history LBSU crossed $1 million in ticket sales. Additionally, the ticket sales unit set multiple attendance and revenue records across LBSU's seven different ticketed sports.
A veteran of ticket sales and service, Rigali also worked for the Los Angeles Angels, where he exceeded his sales goals while managing sales and services for premium spaces, suites, season tickets, mini plans, and groups. The Los Angeles Angels sales and service team hit a record revenue high during the 2022 season.
Rigali previously worked for three years with UC Irvine Athletic Department, managing ticket sales for the Anteaters with a focus on the Bren Event Center, managing operations with UCI. He oversaw the hiring and training program for all student workers at the Box Office and managed a $3 million annual budget.
Additional experience in sales and events came for Rigali with Azusa Pacific at the college level as well as with the San Francisco Giants and the United States Soccer Federation. In these roles he specialized in external events revenue, sponsorships, long term community partnerships, contracts, and customer retention. Rigali and the front office sales team broke a $102 million-dollar overall ticket sales and revenue goal with record consecutive sellouts for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Rigali worked in the San Francisco Giants front office in 2014 when they became World Champions.
Before his time in the Bay Area, he was a four-year student athlete on the Men's Soccer team at California State University Monterey Bay and got his BA in Communications with a concentration in Journalism with work experience at KSBW Action News and the Monterey Herald. Rigali then earned his MA in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. Randy and his wife Lorren have one child named Jude.
