Bulldogs fall to Cowgirls on Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team fell 14-6 to No. 7 Oklahoma State on Saturday in Fresno. With rainy conditions in the Central Valley, the meet split locations with the fences and horsemanship at the Student Horse Center and the reining and flat moving inside to the Animal Science Pavilion.
Freshman Alana Becker earned her first career Most Outstanding Performer honor with a 73.5 in the reining. Becker was just .5 off of her career-high, and scored her highest reining score at home this season.
Fresno State honored its 10 seniors following the conclusion of the meet – Kaylie Banks, Madelyn Bloom, Bryanna Carney, Olivia Ferro, Catalina Gonzalez, Sophie Gratchner, Taylor Holstead, Elle Martin, Grace Mathias, and Sarah Semrau.
How it Happened
Oklahoma State swept in the horsemanship, 5-0.
The Bulldogs scored their first point of the meet in the fences with a 82-70 ride by Taylor Holstead.
At the intermission, Fresno State trailed 9-1.
Once moved inside, the Bulldog reining crew dominated in the event with a 4-1 defeat over the Cowgirls. Brogan Hill won the first point with a 69.5-62.5 ride. Becker followed with her MOP ride of 73.5 and Ashley Jackson rode for a career-high 72.5 to win her point. Shelby Robinette rounded out the scoring in the reining with a 73-71.5 ride.
Fresno State would win one point in the flat in a 85-79 ride by Molly Stewart. The sophomore set a new career-high on Saturday.
