Bulldogs fall to Baylor, 14-6

WACO, Texas - The No. 3 seed Fresno State equestrian team fell 14-6 to the No. 4 seed Baylor in the consolation round of the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, taking fourth place at the event this season.
How it happened
Fresno State started out strong in the flat, bouncing back after a tough performance on Friday to win the event 3-2. Sara Tuck, Elle Martin and Molly Stewart earned points for the 'Dogs in the event. Martin had the highest score for the 'Dogs with a 77.33 in her win. Stewart rode for a 75.67 while Tuck scored a 74.
In the western arena, the Bulldog reiners saw one point from senior Julianne Kelley. The native of Clovis scored the highest ride of all riders in the event with a 71.5 to her opponent's 68.33.
At the half, Baylor held a 6-4 lead. The Bears never looked back, outsourcing the 'Dogs 8-2 in the second half to claim third place at the championships.
In the horsemanship, senior Alex Krebs earned her final point as a Bulldog with a 75.67 to her opponent's 71. Krebs also had the highest score in the event by any rider.
Freshman Sage Lindvall carried her success into Saturday's ride, winning the lone fences point for the 'Dogs with a 75.67-39.33 win in the final ride.
Season In Review
Fresno State finished the season with a 3-10 overall record. Two of its three wins came against ranked opponents in then-No. 2 SMU and then-No. 9 UC Davis. Fresno State's third win was against an unranked Baylor.
