'Dogs sweep New Mexico at home

FRESNO, Calif – Fresno State put together one of its most complete performances of the season on Thursday night, sweeping New Mexico in straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-18) at the Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs hit a conference season-best .305 as a team and used a balanced attack and aggressive serving to control the match from start to finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening frame featured three ties and two lead changes before the Bulldogs pulled away late. Haluska and Legault combined for nine kills, and Williams teamed up with Haluska for the set-clinching block to close it out. Fresno State hit .289 in the set while holding New Mexico to .257.
Fresno State found its rhythm early behind Williams' service ace and a trio of kills from Pulsipher and Legault. The Bulldogs forced the Lobos into six attack errors and capitalized with three aces, two from Haluska and one from Xiong, to build a commanding two-set lead.
Haluska caught fire in the third set, sparking a 10–2 run with three consecutive aces and a flurry of kills from Brooklyn Washington, who hit a blistering .833 for the match. Fresno State's efficient .393 hitting and strong finish sealed the sweep in front of 635 fans at the Save Mart Center.
