Bulldogs place 9th at MW Championship

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State Cross Country team competed in its final Mountain West Championship, held at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The men's team placed ninth in the 8k with a score of 295 and the women placed ninth with a score of 263.
WOMEN'S 6K
Runners Chiara Pedol, Morgan Hutchison, Hannah Pacheco, Rhiannon Walker, Ashley Villafana Rodriguez, Leah Mendibles, Janae Penner, Nayla Martin, Khushleen Khakh and Kylie Ward all entered in the women's 6k at the MW Championship.
Overall, the Bulldogs placed ninth with all 10 runners running the course in under 25 minutes.
Pedol led the Bulldogs with a time of 21:36.8, placing 51st in the race overall.
"On the women's side we were a little flat today, and fell just short of our goal. We had some sickness creep in thie week, and overall a little flat," Head Coach Jason Drake said. "Chiara once again ran solid up front, and we had nice races from Khushleen and Hannah P. We just need to be up 10 more spots across the board and we would have been thrilled."
MEN'S 8K
All 10 members of the Bulldogs' men's roster entered in the 8k at Woodward Park: Jacob Diaz, Gavin English, RJ Estrada, Noah Graffigna, Marcus Jauregui, Guillermo Lopez, Enrique Loredo, Emilio Nunez, Jaden Tungate and Elijah Williams.
The men earned ninth place, paced by Graffigna with a time of 25:23.7 and Nunez at 25.24.4.
"Our men were hoping to beat San Jose today and they were able to get that done," Drake said. "Emilio and Noah ran solid races, So much better than a year ago!"
