FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State picked up its third win of the season on Saturday night, rallying in the second half to defeat Utah Valley 75–74 inside the Save Mart Center.
The Bulldogs outscored the Wolverines 42–34 after halftime to erase a seven-point deficit and secure a one-point victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Utah Valley controlled much of the first half and led by as many as 14, taking advantage of 13 first-half points from Hayden Welling and an 18–10 advantage in points off turnovers. Fresno State trailed 40–33 at the break despite efficient shooting from Jake Heidbreder, who hit a pair of threes and scored 9 in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs surged back early in the second half behind Zaon Collins, who scored 10 points in the first three minutes after halftime—including a three, two driving layups and a three-point play—to cut the deficit to 42–41. Moments later, a steal and dunk from Wilson Jacques put Fresno State in front for the first time since the opening minutes.

Collins continued to take over offensively, finishing the half with 17 points. Jac Mani proved crucial as well, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds before fouling out late.
With 24 seconds left on the clock, freshman DeShawn Gory drained a three-pointer to put the Bulldogs up by one.
Fresno State protected a slim lead in the final minute and held Utah Valley scoreless over the last 1:27 to secure the one-point victory as the Bulldogs improved to 3–2 on the year.
