Bulldogs drop road game at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – Committing its third-most turnovers in a game this season which led to 20 San Diego State points, Fresno State fell 83-60 on Tuesday night at Viejas Arena. The Bulldogs were also punished 35-21 on the glass and saw 11 Atztec offensive rebounds result in another 14 points.
The Bulldogs were led by Jalen Weaver who finished with 16 points. The Aztecs got a game-high 19 points and seven assists from Nick Boyd.
How It Happened
Fresno State turned the ball over five times in the first five minutes, leading to an 11-4 advantage for the Aztecs. Elijah Price brought the score to 11-7 with an and-one going through the body of San Diego State shot blocker Magoon Gwath.
The turnovers continued to plague the 'Dogs early with nine aiding in a 12-point deficit following a triple with 9:37 on the clock. Back-to-back buckets from Fresno State brought it back to eight but SDSU answered with six in less than a minute to force Fresno State to call its first timeout of the game trailing 28-14. Alex Crawford scored out of the stoppage but turnovers on the Bulldogs' next two possessions led to seven unanswered for the Aztecs and the Bulldogs were forced to burn another timeout as the score ballooned to 35-16 with just over four minutes to play in the half.
San Diego State held a 43-23 lead scoring 13 points off 11 turnovers and 10 points off five offensive rebounds.
The Aztecs lead continued to grow after the break, outscoring the 'Dogs 30-7 during a six-and-a-half-minute stretch following a pair of free throws from Fresno State to begin the half. SDSU led 63-32 after eight minutes were gone.
San Diego State saw its largest lead of the game come just over four minutes later at 32.
The Bulldogs scored the final six points as the game ended 83-60.
