Three Bulldogs named to Softball America Freshman watch list

Based on conversations Softball America had with coaches across the country, these freshmen had a standout fall season and could potentially earn a starting role on opening day.
Crosby, a product of San Ramon, will spend her freshman season in the Central Valley. Crosby was a four-year varsity player at California High School. In 2025, Crosby was named First Team All-Bay Area, 49ers Cal-Hi Sports Player of the Year, First Team All-State and was the 2025 Player of the Year for the East Bay Athletic League. The freshman received silver slugger award all four years while batting .539 during her senior season. ALongside she collected 55 hits and recorded eight home runs with 32 RBIs.Â
Loza hails from Hillsboro, Oregon where she was a four-year starter at Century High School. The freshman saw time at shortstop and on the pitcher's mound, finishing her senior season with a .302 batting average, hit five home runs and collected 22 RBIs. Loza pitched 117.2 innings, while posting a 3.09 ERA with 161 strikeouts, earning herself 2nd Team All-League honors at pitcher.Â
Pettey, a California native from Loma Linda will spend her debut year with the 'Dogs. Pettey played four years of varsity at Yucaipa High School. In 2024 Pettey was named First Team All-CBL and Offensive Player of the Year honors. The catcher and utility player batted .512 with 44 hits in 86 at-bats, while totaling nine home runs with 29 RBI's.Â
