FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State water polo team kicks off the 2026 season as the highest ranked Golden Coast Conference team, checking in at No. 7 in the CWPA preseason national rankings announced on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs start off the year with a Top 10 preseason ranking for the fourth straight season. Fresno State has spent 76 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 nationally, including a spot at No. 3 for three weeks in the 2024 season.

Fresno State gets the 2026 season started this weekend, hosting Polopalooza at the Aquatics Center. The Bulldogs pride themselves in playing host to one of the nation's top collegiate water polo tournaments that features seven teams all ranked in the Top 15 nationally.

Fresno State will face No. 15 Michigan to open its season on Friday night. The Bulldogs will also face No. 10 Indiana and No. 8 UC Irvine on Saturday, and No. 12 San Jose State on Sunday.
