Bulldogs in first after day one at Soboba Classic

SAN JACINTO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's golf team wrapped up day one of the Soboba Classic in first place, posting a score of 22-over 310 at Soboba Springs Golf Course on Wednesday.

Four Bulldogs sit inside the top 20 on the leaderboard, including Vunnisa Vu who ended the day in a tie for first place. The junior carded an even-par 72 while collecting three birdies.

Coming off her first collegiate tournament win, Amelia Garibaldi shot 6-over in the opening round to finish tied for eighth. Katelyn Lehigh posted a score of 7-over 79 with two birdies, as the senior sits tied for 10th heading into day two.

Hyojeong Kang is tied for 19th after shooting 9-over, and Lara Goerlich concluded day one at 11-over.

Competing as an individual, Sara Rampoldi ended her day at 11-over.
