Hunter leads ‘Dogs at Watney Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team concluded the first day of the Watney Invitational in fourth place, posting a score of 10-over 578 at San Joaquin Country Club.
Jaden Hunter started his tournament strong, shooting 1-over in the opening round before recording a bogey-free second round to finish off the day which included a birdie on hole 5. Hunter will head into the final round tomorrow tied for 7th at an ever-par.
Jake Bettencourt finished his day tied for 21st, as the senior closed the first day of the tournament by shooting an 1-over in round two with three birdies.
Zack Tarter wrapped up the first day of the tournament at 4-over and tied for 28th after jumping up 17 spots in the second round where he carded an even-par.
Nash Arthurs and Von Wasson wrapped up their days at 5-over, as both are tied for 32nd.
Competing as an individual, Chris Bettencourt sits tied with his brother Jake in 21st place at 3-over. Bettencourt moved 20 spots up the leaderboard in the second round after shooting 1-under with three birdies.
