'Dogs open weekend with win over UT Martin

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team opened the weekend with a dominating 16-4 win over UT Martin at the Student Horse Center on Friday. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 6-4 overall on the season, and 5-1 at home.

Fresno State swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors against the Skyhawks. Junior Sage Lindvall swept the jumping seat MOP honors on Friday. She is the first Bulldog to earn both MOPs in the jumping seat in a meet this season, earning the first honors of her career. Adrianna Runzo was the reining MOP and Shelby Robinette was MOP in the horsemanship.

Fresno State opened with a 4-1 win in the fences. Sage Lindvall opened scoring with her MOP ride, outscoring her opponent 83.5-80.5. Her ride on Friday was the second-highest score of her career. Paris Mahoney, Bridey Jones and Paloma Primavera earned the next three points for the 'Dogs.

The Bulldogs won 3-2 in the horsemanship. UT Martin won the first two, and the Bulldogs bounced back for the final three. Abby Goddard earned the first point with a 74 and Hailey Olson followed with a 73.5 ride. Shelby Robinette earned the MOP with a 74.25, earning her first horsemanship MOP of the season.

The Bulldogs continued the momentum in the reining with another 4-1 win. Goddard and Robinette remained undefeated on the day, picking up the first two points. Adrianna Runzo and Brogan Hill closed out the scoring with the final two points. Runzo picked up her first MOP of the season with a 71.5 score.

Fresno State earned a 5-0 win in the flat, earning their first flat sweep of the season. Lindvall secured her second MOP of the day with an 84, the third-highest score of her career. Molly Stewart, Paris Mahoney, Autumn Bradbury and Ryley Ferguson completed the sweep for the Bulldogs. Four of the five rides for the Bulldogs all scored above an 80.
