Fresno State snags Quentin Rhymes as first transfer for 2026-27

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Men's Basketball Head Coach Vance Walberg announced the signing of the team's first transfer addition for the 2026-27 season, Quentin Rhymes.
Rhymes began his college career at Nebraska, where he redshirted for his freshman season in 2025-26.
Prior to Nebraska, Rhymes attended Hillcrest Prep in Arizona, helping the school to a 28-6 record in 2024-25. He averaged 22.4 points per game as a senior on 52 percent shooting along with 7.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He also shot 41 percent from 3-point en route to second-team all-state honors.
Rhymes was the No. 108 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite ranking and the No. 5 player in the state of Arizona while On3 had him ranked No. 118 nationally and the sixth-ranked prospect in the state in 2025. He also earned a spot on the honor roll at Hillcrest.
He played his first three seasons of high school at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas before spending his senior year at Bella Vista (Ariz.) College Prep.
Rymes played for Coach Lamar Bigby with the Las Vegas Knicks on the PRO16/NXT League circuit, averaging 17.5 points, six rebounds and five assists per game, highlighted by a 40-point effort.
