Season comes to a close in Ocala

OCALA, Fla. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team saw its season come to an end on Thursday, falling 14-4 to the No. 1 ranked Auburn in the quarterfinal round of the NCEA National Championship at the World Equestrian Center.

Fresno State made its first appearance at the National Championship since 2022.

The Bulldogs got off to a hot start with strong first half rides in the fences and reining. Paris Mahoney tied in her fences ride with an 83, and Bridey Jones followed with another tie on the next ride. Auburn won the first point of the day, but Sage Lindvall defeated her opponent 75-55 for the first Bulldog point. With the win, Lindvall ends the season with a five-meet win streak. Auburn took the final point with a 2-1 win in the fences.

In the reining, the Tigers earned the first two points but Fresno State ended the event with three-straight from Abby Goddard, Alana Becker and Brogan Hill. Goddard rode against a 0 score while Becker edged her opponent 70.3-70 and Hill followed suit with a 69.7-69.5 win.
