‘Dogs in tenth after day one at MW Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - The Fresno State women's golf team wrapped up the first day of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women's Golf Championship in tenth place, posting a team score of 26-over 314 at Mission Hills Country Club on Tuesday.
Following the first round of the championship tournament, San Jose State and Colorado State sit atop the leaderboard at 3-over, UNLV and Grand Canyon follow closely at 4-over, while Nevada rounds out the top five at 6-over. Wyoming (11-over) and New Mexico (14-over) are in sixth and seventh place respectively, with Boise State (15-over), San Diego State (17-over), and Fresno State (26-over) concluding the field.
Lara Goerlich and Vunnisa Vu led the way for the Bulldogs through the opening round, as both ended their day tied for 28th at 4-over.
Amelia Garibaldi finished at 8-over in 44th place, with Sara Rampoldi and Katelyn Lehigh right behind at 10-over and tied for 45th.
