How it happenedÂ
The Lopes secured the early advantage by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Fresno State's duo of Klara Vukicevic and Paulina Montiel dropped a 6-3 decision to Crossman and Deaifi at the top spot. Andjela Lopicic and Louna Cormier were edged 6-4 on court two by Arangio and Hofbauer. The third doubles match featuring Eliza Dunbar and Sofia Pizzoni was left unfinished at 5-6.
In singles play, Fresno State could not match the momentum of Grand Canyon. Montiel fell 6-3, 6-0 on court one, while Vukicevic dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Deaifi on court two. Lopicic was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Arangio on court three, and Pizzoni fell 6-1, 6-3 to Hofbauer on court four.
Two matches were left unfinished with Dunbar splitting her first two sets, 2-6, 6-3 and Cormier rebounded from a first-set loss to take the second set 6-3 and force a third.
