Morgan bolsters roster with Kailea Ricks from Ohio State

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State softball and head coach Charlotte Morgan announced the signing of Kailea Ricks on Saturday afternoon.Â
Ricks, a Valley native from Madera, Calif. returns home with two years of eligibility remaining. Ricks spent the last two seasons at Ohio State University. As a Buckeye, Ricks did not see any game action her freshman year but was named Scholar-Athlete in 2025.Â
At Ohio State, Ricks came off a sophomore campaign in which she had eight starts in 16 appearances. The infielder recorded a .280 batting average with five runs, seven hits, two doubles and a home run. On the field, Ricks put up seven putouts with four assists and no errors on a 1.000 fielding percentage.Â
Ohio State sat in the middle of the Big Ten rankings to finish the 2026 season in 8th (26-27, 13-11 B10). The Buckeyes played Michigan in the opening round of the 2026 Big Ten Championship, falling to the Wolverine.Â
