Robinson to represent USA on July Men's World Cup Qualifying Team

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State men's basketball alumnus Orlando Robinson has been selected to the July 2026 USA Men's World Cup Qualifying Team, USA Basketball announced.
Robinson is one of 12 players chosen for the July roster, which features athletes with experience in the NBA, NBA G League and professional leagues around the world. He joins Pedro Bradshaw, Jacob Gilyard, Kevon Harris, Dewan Hernandez, Jay Huff, Mike James, Elijah Pemberton, Matt Ryan, Terry Taylor, Jarrod Uthoff and Gabe York on the squad.
The July team will compete during the opening stages of the 2027 FIBA Men's World Cup Qualifiers. Across six qualifying windows from November 2025 through March 2027, 80 national teams will compete for 32 spots in the 2027 FIBA Men's World Cup, which will be held in Doha, Qatar. In the FIBA Americas region, 16 teams will compete over six qualifying windows, with the top seven nations advancing to the World Cup.
The USA Men's World Cup Qualifying Team begins Window 3 of the 2027 FIBA Men's World Cup Qualifiers on Friday. The Americans are 3-1 through two windows and sit second in Group A behind the Dominican Republic. The USA will face the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo at 8 p.m. ET on July 3 and Mexico in Zacatecas City at 10 p.m. ET on July 6. Both games will stream live to subscribers on Courtside 1891.
Orlando Robinson cemented his legacy in Fresno State men's basketball history during his three-year career with the Bulldogs from 2019-22. A three-time All-Mountain West selection, Robinson earned First Team All-Mountain West honors as a junior after averaging 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while leading Fresno State to The Basketball Classic championship, where he was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
He also collected the 2021-22 Bob Duncan Bulldog of the Year award, First Team NABC All-District honors and recognition as a Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American. Robinson appeared on multiple national player of the year watch lists throughout his final season and finished sixth nationally in KenPom's Player of the Year standings.
Robinson arrived in Fresno as an immediate impact player, starting every game of his collegiate career and steadily improving each season. He averaged 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds as a freshman before posting 14.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore, earning Second Team All-Mountain West honors while recording 11 double-doubles.
As a junior, he elevated his game to another level, totaling 700 points, 301 rebounds and 103 assists to become just the second player in NCAA history to record at least 700 points, 300 rebounds and 100 assists in a single season. Robinson finished his Bulldog career with averages of 15.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, 28 career double-doubles and a reputation as one of the premier big men in college basketball before beginning his professional career.
