'Dogs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS - The Fresno State track and field team earned both a men's team and women's team recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as the organization announced its All-Academic honors on Monday.

Fresno State's women's team earned the organization's team award for the sixth year under Director of Track and Field, Jason Drake. The 'Dogs held a 3.61 cumulative GPA during the spring. The Bulldog men's team had a 3.13 cumulative GPA last semester, earning the team award for the first time since 2022.

The Bulldogs also had four individuals earn All-Academic recognitions in Madison Hutton, Ella Spaulding, Liz Tarczy and Zoe Yeast.

The USTFCCCA highlights student-athletes for both athletic and academic performances. Academically, athletes must attain a 3.25 GPA or higher.

In addition, during the indoor season, athletes must finish in the top 48 of any championship relay event or in the top 96 in any championship individual event. For the outdoor season, athletes need to have either competed in any round of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships or finish in the top 48 in their respective region.
