Indiana scored 11 runs in a wild sixth inning, to push the Hoosiers to a 16-4 victory over New Mexico State on the second day of the 30th Annual Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic in Fresno, Calif.
The Hoosiers held a 3-2 lead heading into the blowout inning, before breaking it wide open by scoring all runs with two outs. NMSU committed two errors and allowed six walks and five hits, including a bases-loaded clearing double by Ethan Wilson.
Evan Crawford led the way for Indiana with four hits and three RBI.
Eric Arnett started for Indiana, earning his first win (1-0) with five innings of work. Anthony Agnew closed out the game with four innings of work for the save, despite the 12 run margin of victory.
Both teams are now 1-1 in the round-robin, week-long tournament.
Day three on Wednesday finds New Mexico State playing Utah at 10:05 a.m. and Indiana facing host Fresno State at 6:05 p.m. Both times are Pacific Daylight.Â
