WAC Announces All-Academic Honors for 2000 Fall Sports

FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference announced its 2000 fall WAC all-Academic honorees this afternoon. With a total of 172 student-athletes named to the list, Fresno State received 23 awards, ranking it second out of the eight schools.. Tulsa was first with 32 recipients.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least fifty percent of the team's contests.
The following is a list of the 23 Bulldog student-athletes and their respective sports.
Men's Cross Country: Eduardo Garcia, Alex Mason and Roberto Vaca
Women's Cross Country: Jennifer Fiedler, Mandy Hollister and Jennifer Smith
Football: Juan Bautista, Giachino Chiaramonte, Lawrence Deck, Patrick Fanene, Matthew Fisher, Vernon Fox, Timothy Osborn, David Shabaglian and Joe Schey
Women's Soccer: Corrine Atkins, Virginia Jenkins, Jacqueline Jewell, Jessica Peisch and Aimee Thompson
Volleyball: Heather Farr, Shauna McQuaid and Leilua Satele
