FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's women's tennis and baseball events scheduled for Saturday were postponed briefly by rain this morning but are currently underway on campus.
The rain forecasted to fall all day by nearly every local meteorologist broke this morning, causing a short delay in the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic at Beiden Field and the Bulldogs' women's tennis match with No. 27 Arizona at the Wathen Tennis Center.
Here is an update for both venues (as of 2 p.m.):
BASEBALL
The seventh-place game of the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic, scheduled for 10 a.m., has been cancelled. Play resumed at 1:30 p.m. with the fifth-place game between UNC-Asheville and Pennsylvania. The third-place game, pitting Penn State vs. Cal Poly, will begin at 4 p.m., with the Fresno State-Gonzaga championship game to follow at 7 p.m.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
No. 16 Fresno State was scheduled to meet No. 27 Arizona at 12:30 p.m. at the Wathen Tennis Center. Early morning showers pushed the start time back to 2 p.m. The two teams are currently playing.
