FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Athletics Director Scott Johnson has announced the hiring of Christopher Moore as Compliance Coordinator. Moore began in his position at Fresno State on Monday.
Moore fills a position that had been open since September 2002. He will report to Jamie Mullin, the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance.
"We are very excited to have a person of Chris' experience and integrity join our department," said Johnson. "Due to budget setbacks, our compliance office, like many of our support areas, have been short-staffed in the past year. By hiring Chris, we are making necessary personnel improvements to one of the most vital areas in our department."
Moore comes to Fresno State from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, Moore served as a compliance assistant for the last year while pursuing a graduate degree in sports administration.
A 1999 graduate of Southern Miss in finance, Moore worked at USM in the admissions and alumni association offices before assuming his position in the school's compliance department.
At Fresno State, Moore will assist in monitoring all areas of the school's compliance programs and educating all coaches, student-athletes and staff members regarding NCAA rules and regulations.
