The second week of annual Bulldog Foundation Fund Drive came to a close yesterday and 42% of the overall fund raising goal for the BDF for 2004 has been raised.
Dennis Poulson was the top producer and top new dollar producer for the week. Larry Trujillo was selected as the fund drive Rookie of the Week.
Al Deniz continues to lead all fund drive volunteers in total money raised, while his wife, Louise, is in solid second place. Rounding out the top five BDF volunteers through the first two weeks are Angie DiLiddo, Fred Stein and Milt Janzen.
Family Value Plans for the 2004 Bulldog Football season are available through BDF Volunteers. Family Value Plan sales have been slow and many remain available. New memberships are also being solicited by the BDF volunteers.
Each Thursday, the Bulldog Foundation Volunteers will turn in their reports. BDF volunteers are competing for prizes, including three trips to Hawaii. To date, 16 fund drive volunteers are in the running for the Hawaii trip. Joining the list this week were Dillard Berry, Gary & Phyllis Giersch, Steve Lee, Jim Martin, Poulson and Hank Smith. The fund drive will continue over the next three weeks.
Arpie Dick has signed up 10 new members and continues to lead the BDF Fund Drive in that category.
Funds from the Bulldog Foundation are allocated to cover scholarship needs for Bulldog student-athletes. The BDF has been nationally renowned for its fund-raising campaign as the top volunteer fund raising group in the nation for 17 consecutive years and has been raising over $7 million annually.
"The fund drive continues to move along at a good pace," said Athletics Director Scott Johnson. "The renewal process has worked well. We have so many great things in store for next year and we are hopeful that new members will want to join the Bulldog Foundation and become partners with the Bulldogs."
