Maddox, Felix Sign Letter of Intent With Fresno State
Top Shot Blocker, All-State Guard Joins Bulldogs
Tito Maddox and Noel Felix have signed letters of intent to enroll at Fresno State and participate in the Bulldog men's basketball program. A second-team California all-state high school pick, Maddox was ranked in the top 10 of national recruiting lists as both a point guard and shooting guard.
A 6-4, 190-lb. senior from Compton High School, Maddox scored 13 points in the Dada All-Star Classic and had 10 assists in that game. A member of several all-tournament teams throughout his career, Maddox moved from the two guard spot to point last season.
Maddox scored over 20 points a game his senior year and averaged eight rebounds per contest.
"We are excited about Tito signing with us, " said Bulldog head coach Jerry Tarkanian. "Tito has great court vision and can play both the one and two positions, which is really important in this day and age and he'll give us good depth at both spots. With Tito, we'll have a lot of versatility in backcourt and we're really looking forward to having him join our squad."
Another Los Angeles native, 6-9, 220-lb. center/forward Noel Felix helped lead Inglewood High School to a 30-4 overall record and the semifinals of the state basketball tournament this past season.
The top shot blocker on his high school team with 4.5 per game, Felix averaged 15 points and 11 boards his senior year.
"We are very delighted to have Noel join our program," Tarkanian said. "He will fit in extremely well with our team. He's a great athlete, he's extremely quick and is a great jumper. He's rated as one of the best athletes in Southern California and we are excited he has signed with Fresno State."
