Fresno - Fresno State's athletics department will benefit from the annual Bulldog Foundation Fund Drive, which concluded last week. The BDF Fund Drive reached its goal of raising all scholarship and recruiting dollars for the athletics department.
It marked the 19th consecutive year that the group will be recognized as the nation's No. 1 volunteer fund raising team.
The 2004 Fund Drive was special because for the first time an automatic renewal program was implemented and worked to near perfection.
"We are very thankful to the BDF volunteers and all of those members who renewed," said athletics director Scott Johnson. "We are also grateful to those new members who joined the BDF for the first time. As we prepare to launch a new strategic plan this summer, we are very excited about the future of Bulldog Athletics. The Bulldog Foundation will continue to be the financial foundation from which our program will continue to grow."
By the end of the Fund Drive, over 4,300 members were signed-up for the 2004-05 year.
Several new Family Value Plans for football were processed during the fund drive, but many more remain available through the Bulldog Ticket Office (559) 278-2509.
Many of the outstanding volunteers were recognized during the fund drive. Dennis Woods won the Top Producer Award for the fifth and final week, while Al Deniz and Leo Wilson were the top two volunteers for the New Dollars category.
Glynna Morgan was the selected the Rookie of the Year amongst the BDF Volunteers.
