FRESNO, Calif. - Starting Sept. 15, Bulldog fans can get lost in a seven-acre field of 10-foot high corn into which a Fresno State Bulldog logo is cut. The corn maze is conveniently located in front of the new Valley Children's Hospital and contains more than 2 miles of twists and turns.
This is the third year for the Fresno area maze but the first for the Bulldog design which was chosen to help promote the university and the valley's agriculture. The maze is operated by Mariposa cattleman Larry Harvison and Madera agri-businessman Darren Schmall.
A portion of the profits made from the Bulldog Cornfield Maize will benefit Make-A-Wish, Leukemia Society, PTA, Boys and Girl Scouts and Fresno State. Free admission tickets have been given to patients and their families at Valley Children's Hospital.
The Bulldog Cornfield Maize will be open to the public from Sept. 15 through Nov. 5 Wednesday through Sunday. Wednesday through Friday the maize will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.. Admission costs are $7 for adults (12 and up), $5 for children (5 to 11) and free for children 4 and under.
