Carrie Coll Named Senior Associate
Coll comes to Fresno State after serving as Associate Commissioner, Championships at the Mountain West for the past 14 years
Coll brings 21 years of extensive experience in leadership positions with her to Fresno State Athletics. She most recently enjoyed a 14-year tenure in the Mountain West office, the last 10 years as Associate Commissioner for Championships when she served as a member of the senior staff participating in development of strategic initiatives, staff management and promotion of the league.
In her role with the Bulldogs, Coll will be primarily responsible for working with all facets of administration within the athletic department. She'll serve as the athletics department chief equity officer and Senior Woman Administrator to the NCAA and MW.
Coll will also have department oversight of sports medicine, be involved in student-athlete initiatives as well as serving as a sport administrator for multiple sport programs providing leadership with goal setting, performance management and budget planning and monitoring.
At the Mountain West, Coll led the governance process and league policy creation and implementation with the Senior Woman Administrators, Joint Council and Conference office staff. She also supervised 16 regular-season MW sponsored sports with a focus on short and long-range planning for competitive improvement, forecasted and managed departmental budgets and ensured gender equity in decision-making processes concerning championship sites and operations.
Prior to her 14-year run at the Mountain West from 2002-15, Coll was the Senior Director of Events and Elite Athlete Relations for the United States Figure Skating Association from 1998-2002.
Coll got her start in collegiate athletics as an undergrad at Colorado where she served as a student athletic trainer for the Buffaloes. Upon graduation with her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Colorado in 1996, she went on to become a certified athletic trainer and received her master's degree in sport management from Kentucky, while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Wildcats.
She has served on the NCAA Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet from 2010-15, including holding the Vice Chair from 2012-15, and is presently on the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee. Coll was the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee Chair from 2005-06, on the soccer committee from 2002-06 and on the Division I Women's Golf Committee from 2008-10.
A Danville, Calif. native, Coll was a competitive figure skater growing up. She and her husband, Dermot, have one daughter, Reagan.
