Lindsey Willmon, a communications major, served as Fresno State softball's offensive leader as the squad captured its second-straight Mountain West Championship and preserved a perfect 18-0 conference record with a sweep over second-place San Jose State. The junior transfer went 6-for-10 (.600) with a .667 on-base percentage and an impressive 1.300 slugging percentage. During the three-game span she accounted for a team-leading five RBIs, scored five runs, had 13 total bases, was hit once and drew one walk.
Willmon's weekend success was highlighted with three multi-hit efforts. She went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run during Friday's series opener, added an RBI on two hits in three at-bats on Saturday and tallied her 11th home run of the year that tied Sunday's contest, before the 'Dogs rallied back to get the win.
The veteran infielder helped Fresno State secure the league's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
