Fresno State sophomore left-handed pitcher Ricky Tyler Thomas, a social work major at Fresno State, was named Deli Delicious Student Athlete of the Week.
The San Diego native picked up his eighth win of the season on Friday in a 9-1 victory at UNLV tossing seven shutout innings limiting the Rebels to seven hits, issued two walks and struck out seven.
It was his fifth start of the season without allowing an earned run and has tossed at least six innings in all five such appearances.
It was also Thomas' ninth start with seven or more strikeouts.
On the season, he currently leads the Mountain West in strikeouts (95), innings pitched (91.1), opposing batting average (.216) and is second in ERA (1.97).
