Cleo Bauer is in her ninth year as an assistant director in the Fresno State athletics academic services department. Responsible for advising volleyball, softball, soccer, wrestling, track and field and cross country, Bauer works with student-athletes from the time they are recruits until they graduate.
Assisting in course and major selection as well as assuring compliance with NCAA eligibility standards, Bauer also serves as the department liaison to the Student Athlete Advisory Board that addresses student-athletes concerns to involvement in community service projects. Also, she is responsible for student-athletes that attend summer school and winter sessions. In addition, she manages the fifth year scholarship program, which provides support for student-athletes completing their final semesters after finishing athletics eligibility.
Having worked closely throughout the years with the Kiwanis Clubs of Fresno and Madera Counties (District 5) and thus as the coordinator of the Kiwanis Torch of Excellence dinner, Bauer had worked for several years at California State University, Chico as the Director of Student Development. Having served as the testing coordinator at Fresno State and as the Dean of Development at San Joaquin College of Law, Bauer has been the University Union Director at Fresno State and Director of the Student Union at Cornell University.
