October 28, 2017
Pregame
• Team Captains: Malik Forrester, Aaron Mitchell, KeeSean Johnson and Las Vegas native Robert Stanley.
• UNLV won the toss and elected to defer. Fresno State received the opening kickoff.
First Quarter
• Josh Hokit picked up his first start of the season, his third career.
• Dejonte O’Neal made his second start of the season, and second career.
• Fresno State marched down the field, 13 plays (78 yards) and scored a touchdown on its opening drive for the second time this season.
• Jimmy Camacho missed his first PAT of his career after the Bulldogs’ first score. He entered the game 26-of-26.
• The Bulldogs gave up points on their opponent's opening drive for the first time since Sept. 16 at Washington, albeit today’s was three points and Sept. 16 was six.
• Derrion Grim matched his career-high for single game receptions (2) in the first quarter.
• Jimmy Camacho connected for a 34-yard field goal to put the ‘Dogs up 9-3, his 14th make this season.
• Fresno State extended its streak of withholding a TD to 10-straight quarters.
• McMaryion was 8-of-9 for 63 yards in the first quarter.
• KeeSean Johnson extended his consecutive games with a reception streak to 30 games.
Second Quarter
• UNLV converted the longest fourth down of the season against the Bulldogs, a fourth-and-7. Fresno State had allowed a fourth down conversion twice (2-of-11) entering the game.
• McMaryion was 0-of-1 in the second quarter.
• UNLV held the time possession edge in the second quarter, 11:18-3:42.
HALFTIME
• Fresno State allowed 13 first downs in the first half. The ‘Dogs allowed 14 in the game to San Diego State and 14 in the game to New Mexico, 12 in the game to San Jose State, and 16 total to Nevada.
• Fresno State was outgained 180-148 in the opening half.
• UNLV controlled the clock, 18:08-11:52.
• Four Bulldogs carried the ball a total of15 times. Jordan Mims led the group with five. Josh Hokit went without a carry in the first half.
• UNLV owned three drives in the first half and scored on each one.
Third Quarter
• UNLV crosses the goal-line; takes a 16-9 lead with 9:31 left in the 3Q. It is the first TD the Bulldogs have given up over 11 quarters and marks the first time Fresno State has trailed in Mountain West play.
• UNLV scored the first points against Fresno State on an opening drive of the second half in MW play.
• At 3:38, Jordan Mims scored from 4 yards out. His second score of the game and first career game with multiple TDs.
• The Bulldogs' scoring drive went 89 yards (on 14 plays), marking the longest drive this season (by yards).
• At 1:56, UNLV punted for the first time. KeeSean Johnson muffed the punt and the Rebels retained possession at the Bulldogs’ 23-yard line.
• The score was tied 16-16 after three quarters.
Fourth Quarter
• At 14:53, UNLV took a 23-16 lead - it was just the fourth time this season a team scored points off a turnover.
• Trailing UNLV at 14:53, it was the first time Fresno State trailed in a game since at Washington.
• At 10:12, Fresno State forced the Rebels’ second punt. The Bulldogs got the ball back down 23-16.
GAME
• UNLV snapped the Bulldogs’ seven-game win streak against the Rebels at Bulldog Stadium. Fresno State had not lost at home to UNLV since 1983.
• The Bulldogs’ streak of keeping their opponent out of the endzone ended after 11-straight quarters as UNLV crossed the goal-line in the third quarter.
• KeeSean Johnson extended his consecutive games with a reception streak to 30 games.
• UNLV surpassed the points allowed by all three of the Bulldogs’ previous opponents combined, 26-21.
• UNLV won the 20th all-time meeting, but Fresno State continues to own the all-time advantage 13-7.
• UNLV possessed the ball for three drives and scored each time on drives of 7:40, 6:36 and 3:44. All three drives resulted in field goals.
• Jamire Jordan set a Bulldog individual high in kickoff return yardage with 108 on four returns.
• McMaryion was 8-of-9 for 63 yards in the first quarter. He went 8-of-18 for 89 over the last three quarters.
• UNLV doubled the total number of fourth down conversion allowed. Fresno State entered the game holding opponents 2-of-11, UNLV went 2-of-2.
• Fresno State did not force a turnover for the first time since Sept. 9 at Alabama.
• Fresno State was held without a sack for the first time this season.
• The Bulldogs allowed its most rushing yards to a Mountain West opponent this season (173), and most since Week 2 at Alabama.
• Fresno State lost the turnover battle for only the second time this season. UNLV, like Alabama, also held a 1-0 advantage in turnovers.
