Pregame
• Team Captains: Aaron Mitchell, Malik Forrester, James Bailey and Kyle Riddering.
• Boise State won the coin toss and elected to defer.
First Quarter
• Key third down: 3rd-and-9 converted on opening drive ... Fresno State converted two of its nine third down conversions during the opening drive.
• Fresno State scored a touchdown on its opening drive for the third time this season and scored for the fourth time overall.
• KeeSean Johnson caught the game’s first catch for the Bulldogs; it extended his streak to 34 games consecutive games with at least one catch is game – a streak that dates back to his third career game as a Bulldog.
• Marcus McMaryion threw his 13th TD pass of the season for the games’ first score; KeeSean Johnson caught a new career-best for a single-season seventh TD pass.
• Boise State answered with a touchdown on its opening drive; it was the first time the Bulldogs surrendered a touchdown to it opponent since traveling to Washington. It was the first time the Bulldogs traded opening scores with its opponent this season.
• Cozart’s 21-yard rush in the first quarter represented the first explosive rush play the Bulldogs have allowed since the third quarter on Nov. 4 versus BYU.
• The game was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter, marking the second time in conference play this season that Fresno State did not hold a lead (trailed 7-0 to Hawai’i).
Second Quarter
• Boise State’s first attempt to convert a fourth down was unsuccessful (4th-and-1). It moved Fresno State’s opponents to 6-of-21 on 4th down attempts this season and moved Boise State’s offense to 2-of-15 converting 4th downs this season.
• Jimmy Camacho made his 20th field goal of the season to push the lead to 10-7 Fresno State.
HALFTIME
• Fresno State held a 10-7 lead … it’s the ninth time Fresno State has had a lead going into the second half, ‘Dogs are 8-0 in those games.
• Boise State outgained the Bulldogs 224 to 185 in the first half. It was the first time an opponent totaled more the 200 yards in a half against Fresno State during conference play this season.
• Juju Hughes and Jaron Bryant shared the lead in tackles at the break, five apiece.
• After allowing 75 yards on the opening drive, Fresno State held the Broncos to 149 yards the remainder of the half.
Third Quarter
• Fresno State’s defense forced a Boise State three-and-out to open the second half. The Bulldogs have held its opponent to zero points nine times on opening second half drives this season.
• Nathan Madsen forced a 3rd-and-20 with his fifth career sack (second of the season) – a loss of 10 yards. Fresno State held on third down and took over at their own 33-yard line after the punt with 8:30 on the clock.
• Jordan Mims registered his sixth touchdown of the season, via a two-yard run to give Fresno State a 16-6 lead with 5:52 left in the third quarter.
• Boise State answered Fresno State touchdown with a 24-yard field goal, cutting their deficit to 16-10 with 1:55 remaining in the quarter.
Fourth Quarter
• Jimmy Camacho makes it a two possession game with a 41-yard field goal, increasing the Bulldogs lead to 19-10 with 14:18 left in the game. It was his 21st make of the season (21-of-25). The program record for makes in a single season is 23.
• Marcus McMaryion to KeeSean Johnson for an 81-yard touchdown … it was the longest play from scrimmage this season … and KeeSean’s longest career catch. It was Marcus McMaryion’s longest career touchdown throw (Oregon State/Fresno State). It was the Bulldogs' longest play from scrimmage since Sept. 17, 2016.
• Robert Stanley’s TFL with 5:40 left increased his season total to a team-high 9.5 this season.
GAME
• Fresno State announced a crowd of 31,526, the second largest crowd of the season.
• Fresno State recorded its third safety of the season when Malik Forrester tagged on two points with 1:17 left in the game. Records dating back to 2002 indicate no Bulldog team has recorded three safeties in a season in that span.
• Last time Fresno State gave up 400 plus yards and won was at Hawai’i on Nov. 14, 2015.
• Fresno State held Boise State, who entered the game averageing 34.8 points per game to 17. After 12 games the Bulldogs are allowing opponents 17.2 points per game. The last time a Bulldog team has held its opponent under 20 points per game in a season was in 1991 (17.8).
• Marcus McMaryion completed four passes for more than 30 yards, upping his season total to 21.
• KeeSean Johnson surpassed 100 yards in a game for the fifth time in his career (119).
• Fresno State snapped Boise State’s seven-game win streak dating back to Oct. 6.
• Fresno State defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since 2004 since defeating No. 18 Virginia on Dec. 27 in the MPC Computers Bowl.
• It is the 22nd season in program history the Bulldogs have won nine-plus games.
• It was the 'Dogs sixth win against the Broncos all-time as Boise State now leads the series, 13-6. Fresno State owns five of six wins at Bulldog Stadium and have won the last two encounters.
