Fresno State at Boise State

Pregame
• Team Captains: Aaron Mitchell, Malik Forrester, Da’Mari Scott and Robert Stanley.
• For the second –straight game, Boise State won the coin toss and elected to defer. Fresno State started with the ball to open the game.
First Quarter
• KeeSean Johnson set the program record with consecutive games (35) with at least one catch as he hauled in the game's first reception. Breaking Henry Ellard's record (34) held from 1979-82.
• Jimmy Camacho missed his fifth goal of the season as a 41-yard hit off the right upright on the Bulldogs’ opening drive.
• On first down at the 9:10 mark, Mike Bell had an interception reviewed and ruled an incomplete pass; it was ruled it hit the ground first.
• On third-and-5, George Helmuth recorded his third sack season of the season; third career, forcing a 4th-and-11.
• Boise State scored the game’s first points; a 31-yard field goal capped a 10-play, 60-yard drive.
• Fresno State was held without points in the first quarter for the third time this season (at Washington, at Hawai’i).
Second Quarter
• Fresno State is now 9-of-14 on fourth downs after converting a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.
• Marcus McMaryion rushed (1-yard) for his first career touchdown as a Bulldog. It was his third career rushing score.
• Marcus McMaryion rushed (8-yards) for his second touchdown of the game to push Fresno State to a 14-10 lead. He entered the game with two career rushing scored, one in 2015 and one in 2016.
HALFTIME
• Fresno State outrushed Boise State 122 to 44 in the first half.
• Fresno State outgained Boise State 224-171 in the first half.
• Fresno State held a 14-10 lead at half time; it’s the 10th time Fresno State has had a lead going into the second half.
• Fresno State owned 14 first downs vs. Boise State’s seven.
Third Quarter
• Fresno State converted just its second third down (2-of-7) to extend its drive; McMaryion to Jared Rice, a seven-yard throw needing four yards. It would be the last third down conversion for the Bulldogs.
• Robert Stanley sacked the quarterback on 3rd-and-10 for a loss of four yards; it forced a punt. It was the second time the Bulldogs recorded a sack on a third down.
• Marcus McMaryion was sacked for the second time in the game with 3:47 remaining in the third quarter; it matches a season-high two sacks the Bulldogs have allowed this season (2-Alabama).
• A scoreless third quarter kept the game, 14-10.
Fourth Quarter
• Fresno State had back-to-back sacks to close down Boise State’s first drive in the fourth quarter.
• George Helmuth matched his career-high for sacks (2) and Malik Forrester picked up his first sack of the game. It was the third and fourth sacks of the game for the Bulldogs.
GAME
• Fresno State falls to 1-2 all-time in Mountain West Championship games.
• Fresno State drops to 1-9 all-time on the road at Boise State, and 13-7 in the all-time series.
• At 9-4 overall, Fresno State has the opportunity to become the second team in NCAA history to take a double-digit loss season and turn it into a double-digit winning season the following year (Miami (Ohio), 2010)
• Fresno State fell on the road for the first time to a conference rival.
• KeeSean Johnson set the program record with consecutive games (35) with at least one catch, breaking Henry Ellard's record (34) held from 1979-82.
• Fresno State dropped its first game this season after owning the halftime lead (9-1).
• Fresno State will move on to its 27th all-time bowl appearance.

• Fresno State outrushed its opponent for the 10th time this season; Fresno State lost just its second game this season when outrushing its opponent (8-2).

• Marcus McMaryion scored two rushing touchdowns in a single game for the first time in his career.
• Fresno State lost the turnover battle for the third time this season, they are now 0-3 in those games.
