Pregame
• Team Captains: Marcus McMaryion, George Helmuth, Micah St. Andrew and Juju Hughes.
• Fresno State won the coin toss and elected to defer. Hawaii opened the game with the ball.
• Kickoff Temp: 75 degrees.
First Quarter
• Wylan Free picked up his second career start, as the Bulldogs opened on nickel defense. George Helmuth, not in the starting 11 for the particular formation, had made 18 consecutive starts before Saturday.
• Hawaii scored on a 43-yard field goal on its opening drive. It was the second time this season Fresno State's defense allowed points its opponents' opening drive (Wyoming-3).
• 50 yards were the most Fresno State surrendered on an opening drive to an opponent this season.
• Dontae Bull picked up his first career start, making the start at right tackle. The change marked the fourth different group of starters on the offensive line.
• Michiah Quick entered the game during the first drive. It was his first action since leaving the Minnesota game (Sept. 8) in the second quarter.
• Blake Cusick dropped his eight punt inside the 10-yard line with his first attempt of the game.
• There was a delay at 8:01 p.m. PT due to the loss of power to the tower lighting; the official delay was 29 minutes.
• Jared Rice caught McMaryion’s first four passes of the game – the fourth being a 19-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 7-3 lead with 4:43 remaining the opening quarter.
• Jamire Jordan logged the Bulldogs’ third-longest explosive play of the season, a 49-yard touchdown, to give Fresno State a 14-3 lead with 0:37 seconds left.
• Jordan caught his first touchdown pass of the season, and 11th career.
• Hawaii logged 31 yards on its first play of the game; they posted 23 over the remainder of the opening quarter.
• Ronnie Rivers logged all seven Bulldog rushes in the first quarter.
Second Quarter
• Fresno State allowed its third-longest play from scrimmage of the season to Hawai'i, a 50-yard TD pass that allowed Hawai'i to cut its deficit to 14-10 with 14:30 left in the half.
• Ronnie Rivers 76-yard TD rush was a career-long and the longest rush from scrimmage by a Bulldog since Marteze Waller broke loose for a 76-yard TD on Oct. 17, 2014 at Boise State.
• Asa Fuller connected on a 22-yard field goal; his fourth make of the season (4-of-7). Fresno State took a 24-10 advantage with 8:57 left in the half.
• Hawai'i cut the Fresno State lead to 24-13 with 4:35 left in the half. 13 points tied the most points given up by a Bulldog defense in the opening half of a game this season (FS led Toledo 28-13).
• On the last drive of the second quarter, KeeSean Johnson caught his first reception of the game to extend his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception to 44 games. He now leads the nation in that category.
Third Quarter
• Asa Fuller made his second field goal of the game, a 32-yarder, to put Fresno State on top with 9:49 left in the third.
• The field goal gave Fresno State 40 points, marking the first time breaking the 40-point plateau since playing Idaho in the opener.
• Marcus McMaryion matched his career-high as a Bulldog with his fourth TD pass of the game. McMaryion tossed four TDs earlier in the season against Toledo, and last season against Hawai'i. It was to Derrion Grim, a 6-yard pass, his second receiving touchdown of the season and third career. The play put the ‘Dogs on top 47-13 with 8:45 left in the third quarter.
• Mykal Walker recovered a fumble at the Bulldogs’ own 41-yard line, the Bulldogs second takeaway of the game, with 4:45 left in the third.
Fourth Quarter
• Asa Fuller upped his season-high to three made field goals with a 21-yarder. He entered the game three made field goals (3-of-6).
GAME
• Fresno State has won six-straight games, their longest streak since 2013 (10), and have won 16 of its last 19 games.
• Fresno owns the nation’s lead in limiting opponents under 30 points in consecutive games (19). They entered the game tied with LSU, the Tigers had a bye.
• Keesean Johnson broke Davante Adams’ career receptions lead of 233 by one catch on Saturday, making eight grabs to end the game with 234. Seven of eight receptions were in the second half.
• Fresno State won the turnover battle, 2-0. Fresno State has not turned the ball over since a second quarter fumble on Oct. 6 at Nevada.
• With the Bulldogs’ victory over Hawai'i, Jeff Tedford recorded his 99th career win as a head coach.
• KeeSean Johnson picked up the nation’s outright lead for active streak of most consecutive games with at least one reception with his 44th straight game. He overtook a tie shared with Temple’s Ventell Bryant – Temple observed its’ first bye weekend of the season.
• With 31 attempts without a turnover, Marcus McMaryion increased his streak to 141 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. McMaryion had a streak of 149 consecutive pass attempts without an interception in 2017, which ranked as the sixth-best streak in program history.
• Mykal Walker’s 3.5 tackles for loss are the most in a single game by a Bulldog since Ejiro Ederaine posted 4.0 TFLs on Dec. 6, 2014 against Boise State.
• Fresno State improves to 4-0 in league play for the third time as a member of the Mountain West (joined conference in 2012). Fresno State will be 4-0 in league play entering its game at UNLV on Nov. 3, similarly to entering its 2017 game against UNLV 4-0 in league play.
• Fresno State did not turn the ball over for a third consecutive game. Fresno State has won the turnover battle six times, tied it once, and lost it once. Fresno State’s only defeat this season is when they lost the turnover battle.
• Fresno State totaled 24 first downs, marking the fifth time this season Fresno State has compiled 24 or more first downs in a game.
• With seven points off turnovers, Fresno State increased its season total to 83 points off turnovers this season.
• The Bulldogs’ 562 yards total offense was a season-high, and the most since 613 vs. Incarnate Word on Sept. 2, 2017. It was the most yards posted against an FBS opponent since posting 593 against New Mexico on Sept. 25, 2014.
• KeeSean Johnson tied his season-high receptions (8) total. Seven of eight receptions were in the second half.
