Fresno State Football: Media Credential Requests/Media Policy
Fresno State Football Single Game & Season Long Credential Requests -- all requests should be emailed to Savannah Stoeckle (sstoeckle@csufresno.edu) for review
- Credential requests will be considered only if they are submitted by the sports editor, sports director/producer or photo editor
- Credential request reviews are not guaranteed when made less than 48 hours from kickoff
Individuals must be on assignment to be credentialed for a Fresno State athletic event. Freelance and amateur photographers not on assignment are not eligible.
Credentials will not be issued to representatives whose outlet exists solely as a platform for distributing unoriginal content (press releases, aggregate news sites, etc.).
Fresno State Football Credential Access Priority
1. Originating radio and television personnel involved in a live television or radio broadcast of a Fresno State intercollegiate athletic competition.
2. Daily newspapers, wire services, and regional and national publications that regularly and substantially report on Fresno State intercollegiate athletics.
3. Non-originating radio and television personnel producing reports on a Fresno State intercollegiate athletic competition.
(Only local radio stations with a full-time sports director conducting a regular and substantial sports show reporting on Fresno State intercollegiate athletics receive consideration for credentials.)
4. Officially recognized Fresno State daily student publications and daily student electronic media outlets that regularly and substantially report on Fresno State intercollegiate athletics.
5. Non-daily newspapers or publications that regularly and substantially report on Fresno State intercollegiate athletics.
Note: Websites that sponsor message boards, message centers or chat rooms where people are allowed to post anonymous information will not be issued credentials. If a medium has an online site that sponsors these anonymous forums, they may continue to receive credentials under its traditional medium (newspaper, magazine, radio, television), but will not be granted additional passes for online staff.
Media credentials for coverage of Fresno State Football are issued at the sole discretion of the Athletics Strategic Communications office. Credentials are granted on a case-by-case basis, space permitting, to reporters and employees of media outlets affiliated with major news-gathering organizations, on specific assignment. Credentials are non-transferable and may be used only by the person to whom they are issued.
Credentialed media working Fresno State Athletics competitions or events are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Issuance of a media credential for one event does not guarantee approval for future events. Fresno State Athletics reserves the right to revoke a media credential at any time.
Credential holders:
- Shall have credential displayed at all times
- Shall understand the credential is not transferable and is a working pass. Credentials may not be transferred or requested under “nameless” designations. Any individual using a credential that does not match the name on the label will be asked to leave the facility. If a credential holder provides their credential to another individual on game day, that individual will be escorted out, and the original credential holder will have access revoked for the remainder of the season
- Shall not enter, and shall remain outside, the designated team bench at all times, and shall not have contact with the coaching staff or student-athletes during the game
- Shall understand the credential admits to designated areas only
- Shall not arrange, provide or promise to provide any benefits to any current Fresno State student-athlete (or their relatives or friends) or prospective student-athlete (or their relatives or friends), other than as pre-approved in connection with a media activity (e.g., radio, TV broadcast/production)
- Agree to abide by all credential use policies, including policies specific to individual sports; failure to do so may result in ejection from the venue and the revocation of future credential privileges
On behalf of the Football Writers Association Of America, be reminded that the press box at Valley Children's Stadium is a working press box and cheering or any other disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Violators will be asked to leave and may be subject to losing credential access. These rules are in place to ensure a safe, professional, and fair working environment. We expect all credentialed media to abide by them respectfully and in good faith.
Interview Requests
All requests to interview coaches, staff, student-athletes or their families must be submitted through the Athletics Strategic Communications Office. Violation of this policy via direct outreach may result in denial or limitation of future access.
