GAME
• Fresno State has started the season 0-2 for the first time since 2014.
• Saturday’s loss snapped an eight-game home winning streak.
• Fresno State has suffered just six losses in its last 27 games. The Bulldogs have not lost by double-digits since Oct. 28, 2017 – a 10 point loss to UNLV.
• The Bulldogs played in their second overtime game in the last four contests they’ve played in dating back to 2018. The last overtime game Fresno State participated in was a 19-16 single overtime win to defeat Boise State in the Mountain West championship game.
• Saturday’s game was the Bulldogs’ seventh multi-period overtime game played in, in program history.
• Fresno State dropped to 8-11 in overtime games in program history. Fresno State’s last overtime game at Bulldog Stadium was also a double overtime contest, a 48-41 loss to Tulsa on Sept. 24, 2016.
• Fresno State owned a 21-14 lead after the third quarter. Tedford dropped to 20-3 in games with a lead after three quarters.
• Fresno States’ defense forced three turnovers, all forced fumbles. The last time Fresno State recovered three fumbles in one game was on Nov. 22, 2014 at Nevada.
• Junior linebacker Justin Rice forced two fumbles. It was the first time a single individual on the Bulldogs’ defense forced two fumbles in the same game since Tobenna Okeke on Nov. 11, 2017 at Hawaii.
• The Bulldogs won the turnover battle, 3-2. It was the second straight game Fresno State won the turnover battle and lost the game.
• Jorge Reyna was sacked four times. It was the first time Fresno State allowed four sacks in one game since Nov. 26, 2016.
• Cesar Silva, in his second career game, went 2-of-3 and connected for a season-best 48-yard field goal. He is 5-of-6 this season and has made kicks from 45 and 46 yards, in addition to his 48-yarder on Saturday. His only miss was a 50-yard try – the first attempt of the game against Minnesota.
• Fresno State has attempted six field goals in two games. Fresno State did not attempt its sixth field goal in 2018 until its seventh game of the season.
• Fresno State’s defense allowed an opening drive touchdowns for the second-straight game. Last time out, the Bulldogs allowed an opening drive TD for the first time since Nov. 25, 2017 (vs. Boise State).
• Punter Blake Cusick added his second inside the 10-yard line punt in the first quarter. The 2018 Ray Guy semifinalist placed 11 inside the 10-yard line a season ago.
• Jorge Reyna was 9-of-13 at halftime and 24-of-35 (68.6%) for the game. Reyna tossed three touchdowns and two interceptions. The second which ended the game in double overtime, a grab by Antoine Winfield Jr., who sealed the game for Minnesota in 2018.
• Jared Rice caught his eighth career touchdown pass. Marty Thompson owns the career-most TD catches by a Bulldog tight end with 11.
• Fresno State converted a two-point conversion for the first time since UCLA, Sept. 15, 2018
