- Fresno State falls to 1-3 on the season for the first time since 2016.
- UConn evened the all-time series, 1-1.
- Fresno State is 0-2 in games played on the road.
- Fresno State’s defense had its first turnovers of the season.
- Fresno State’s offense did not convert a third down (0-of-7) for the first time in a game since Sept. 17, 2016 at Toledo.
- Fresno State offense had two turnovers on downs, two interceptions and a fumble.
- Fresno State produced only 187 yards of total offense, its lowest since having 125 at Boise State in 2010.
Offense Notes
- Logan Fife earned his first career start at quarterback.
- Also earning their first career start was offensive lineman Daniel Taumalolo (RT).
- WR Zane Pope got his first start of the season.
- RB Jordan Mims scored his sixth touchdown of the season.
- Sophomore tight end Tre Watson had the best game of his season, finishing with four catches for 39 yards.
- Fresno State was without starting quarterback Jake Haener, starting wide receiver Josh Kelly and starting right tackle Dontae Bull for Saturday's contest.Â
Defense Notes
- Johnny Hudson Jr. (DT) and Steven Comstock (DB) earned their first career starts.
- True freshman Jacob Holmes earned his first career start as defensive tackle.
- Holmes was also responsible for a recovered fumble in the second quarter.
- CB Bralyn Lux forced the Bulldogs first defensive turnover of the season on a strip sack in the second quarter. Holmes recovered.
- Safety L.J. Early forced a fumble in the third quarter, and fellow safety Elijah Gates was there for the recovery. After having no turnovers all season, Fresno State had two against the Huskies.
- Early recorded the first forced fumble of his career.
- Levelle Bailey had his second-straight 10-tackle performance.
- Fresno State was without starting safety Evan Williams and linebacker Raymond Scott on Saturday.
Special Teams Notes
- Nikko Remigio had an 87-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter, the first time a Bulldog returned a punt for a touchdown since Isaiah Burse returned one against Cal Poly on Sept. 7, 2013.
- Remigio finished the game with a team-high 138 all-purpose yards.
