Fresno State-San Jose State Postgame Quotes
Jeff Tedford, Head Coach
On tonight’s win over San Jose State…
"Great win, really good football team, really the hottest team in the conference coming in here. Got to give them a lot of credit for how hard they played. Just really happy for our kids and our coaching staff. You know it’s been a long, hard few weeks here. It was really nice to come home. It seems like forever… I couldn’t be prouder of these kids. It’s been a long, hard road. A lot of people gave up on these kids. We hear all this negative talk about things, but these guys keep working hard every single day. Come to practice, work, and believe in each other and that was a great defensive performance tonight. We played team football."
Logan Fife, So., QB
On his first win as a starter...
"I'm extremely excited. It's something that you think about, but now it's here. It took everyone. We worked our tails off all week. It's what we expected to happen. It was a team win. It was a great win, a great feeling and a great atmosphere in the locker room."
On the team's improvement on both sides of the ball...
"The defense was on it all night. We were feeding off their energy. We had a new preparation this week to change things up. The whole team bought in and adapted to it. We got after it all week and it carried over into the game. Everyone was feeding off of each others' energy, it was awesome."
On feeling more comfortable in his third start...
"Definitely. It took me a second, but I'm really feeding off the guys around me. They are making big plays and it helps me calm down. I think that I'm seeing the field better, and playing at home was a big help. I felt more comfortble being in Fresno and having the crowd behind me."
David Perales, Sr., DE
On having a career-game...
"Four is the most sacks that i've had in a game. It means a lot to step up for my team. We were in a funky four weeks. It means a lot to get back in the win column after the tough four games we had."
On managing the past four weeks...
"I think it started earlier in the week. We changed our whole routine and workouts. So we started fresh and I think that helped us a lot. Since its still conference play, we still had the ability to be who we wanted to be and I think everyone was on the same page. We all fought today so I am proud of everybody."
