- Fresno State lost its first game at Valley Children’s Stadium since falling 35-32 to Oregon State on Sept. 10, 2022.
- Saturday was Fresno State’s first loss in a Mountain West home game since falling 40-14 to Boise State on Nov. 6, 2021.
- Fresno State lost to New Mexico at home for the first time since 1994.
- Fresno State surrendered its sixth-ever loss to New Mexico.
- Fresno State scored a touchdown on its opening drive for the seventh time this season.
- Fresno State’s defense gave up over 300 yards rushing for the second-straight game.
- Fresno State’s defense allowed an opposing rusher to surpass 200 yards rushing for the second-straight game.
- Fresno State allowed more than 500 yards for the first time this season.
- It was the fourth-straight game the Bulldogs have allowed more than 400 total yards after not allowing 400 in the previous seven.
- Fresno State forced two turnovers for the seventh time this season. It was the first time in a loss.
- The 40:19 time of possession is the most by a Bulldog opponent since Air Force had the ball for 42:38 on Oct. 24, 2015.

Offensive Notes
- QB Logan Fife scored on a one-yard rush on the Bulldogs’ opening drive.
- It was Fife’s first rushing touchdown and fourth of his career. Three of those rushing TDs have come against New Mexico.
- Jalen Moss caught a 53-yard reception on third-and-2 on the Bulldogs’ opening drive. It was his longest of the season, and Fresno State’s fourth-longest play from scrimmage in 2023.
- RB Malik Sherrod punched in his seventh touchdown of the season, a six-yard rush in the second quarter.
- Kingsley Ugwu got his first start as a Bulldog at LT.
Defensive Notes
- Fresno State had two new starters at defensive tackle in Dupre Mendoza and Kavika Baumgartner.
- Both Mendoza and Baumgartner earned their first career starts as Bulldogs.
- Levelle Bailey grabbed his third interception of the season.
- Dean Clark grabbed his second interception of the season.
Special Teams Notes
- Dylan Lynch saw his first missed field goal since Sept. 30, 2023 against Nevada. Lynch hit wide left from 42-yards out in the first quarter.
- Erik Brooks hit for a 39-yard punt return in the first quarter. It was the longest punt return by a Bulldog this season.
