- Fresno State won back the Milk Can trophy for the first time since 2017.
- Fresno State won its sixth game at home in the series with Boise State.
- Fresno State stayed undefeated at home in 2023, and won its 15th-straight game at Valley Children’s Stadium.
- Fresno State scored a touchdown on its game-opening drive for the sixth time this season.
- Fresno State’s defense produced a turnover in its third-straight game. The Bulldogs have had at least one turnover in six of nine games played this season.
- Fresno State is 5-0 when winning the turnover battle this season.
- With Mac Dalena leading the team in receiving yards on Saturday night, the Bulldogs have had five different receivers lead the ‘Dogs in nine games this season.
- Fresno State’s defense held Boise State to just 177 yards rushing on Saturday. Coming into the game, Boise State was averaging 195.4 rushing yards per game this season.
- The Bulldogs were able to put up 138 yards rushing against the Broncos, who were allowing an average of just 111.9 rushing yards to their opponents.
Offensive Notes
- RB Malik Sherrod had a career-high 132 yards rushing on 21 carries. It was his third 100-yard game in the last six games.
- Sherrod’s 21 carries were the most allowed by a single player against Boise State all season.
- Sherrod also recorded the most yards rushing by a single player against the Broncos this season.
- Sherrod’s 52-yard run was the longest run given up by the Broncos this season.
- Sherrod also added four receptions for 28 yards.
- With an additional 95 kickoff return yards, Sherrod totaled 255 all-purpose yards on the night, the 10th-most in a game in Bulldog football history.
- WR Mac Dalena led the team with 85 yards receiving on six catches.
- TE Tre Watson caught his fourth touchdown of the season, a 25-yard reception from Mikey Keene on the Bulldogs’ first drive of the game.
- Watson had three receptions of 15 or more yards on the night.
- QB Mikey Keene improves to 7-1 as the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback.
- Keene completed 63 percent of his passes on the night.
- Keene threw for 290 yards, with 151 total yards in chunk plays of 15 or more yards.
Defensive Notes
- DE Devo Bridges recorded his second solo sack of the season on a third-and-8 in the first quarter to hold Boise State to three points.
- LB Phoenix Jackson nabbed his first career interception in the second quarter, ending a Boise State drive at the Fresno State 23-yard line.
- DB Al’zillion Hamilton recorded his second career interception, ending a Bronco drive in the end zone in the second quarter.
- DB Dean Clark led the team in tackles with eight against the Broncos.
- It was the sixth time this season that Clark has led the team, and the fourth game in a row.
Special Teams Notes
- Malik Sherrod had Fresno State’s first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2008, returning it 95 yards for a touchdown to end the first half.
- Sherrod’s kickoff return was the 11th in program history.
- The 95 yards was the longest kickoff return for a touchdown by the Bulldogs since a 98-yard return TD by A.J. Jefferson on Nov. 10, 2007.
- Dylan Lynch made a 48-yard field goal in the first quarter. It marked his ninth straight game with a made field goal this season.
- Lynch has connected on seven-straight field goals, dating back to Oct. 7 at Wyoming.
- Lynch went perfect in a game for the fifth time this season.
- TE Tre Watson recovered a Boise State onside kick attempt in the fourth quarter.
