On the game…
“I’m proud of those guys in that locker room. We’ve been through a lot of adversity. They didn’t listen to the noise of what was being said on social media. They just kept being together, playing together, having one heartbeat and being Bulldogs. We fight through adversity. It’s just temporary setbacks, just keep going. We wanted it to be a physical game, we called it a ‘fist fight’. We knew it would come down to the fourth quarter. That was a tough opponent that we played today. We both wanted to win in the trenches and we did just enough to win tonight. I’m proud of our guys.”
“Our special teams was huge tonight. The punt team did a great job flipping the field and pinning them inside the five. How about our punt return team? We had a scheme that we felt would work against these guys. We didn’t practice any returns this week, just blocks, and it worked. We made it so that the punter couldn’t punt it and we made some plays.”
“We were able to run the ball tonight, and get some stops on defense. In the first half, they had some runs because you’re really playing against the option with these guys. To be honest, we didn’t make any adjustments we just executed better in the second half to get the win.”

They got an early touchdown but we try to go 1-0 on every down, so we had to move on to the next drive. It’s the ‘so what now what’ mentality. We knew if everyone just stuck to doing their job that we were going to make plays and get the win.”

“We’ve been emphasizing the run game all week. We went out there and executed tonight. We were able to show what we can do. I’ve prepared my whole life to have these moments and I’m ready to seize the opportunity. Bryson (Donelson) and I are both big backs. We have size to us, but we were also able to show our speed and use that to our advantage tonight.”
