- Fresno State won its home opener for the sixth year in a row.
- Fresno State won its sixth-straight in the series with Sacramento State.
- Matt Entz picked up his 10th win as the Bulldogs’ head coach, and 70th win as a Division I head coach.
- Fresno State’s 49 points on Saturday were its most scored against an FBS opponent since putting up 53 in a win over Kent State in 2023.
- Fresno State led 32-0 at halftime. It was the largest first half lead for the Bulldogs since a 38-point lead over Idaho on Sept. 1, 2018

- WR Josiah Freeman had a season-best 100 yards on six catches
- Freeman had his second career 100-yard game.
- RB Rayshon Luke scored the first touchdown of 2026 on an 18 yard pass from Jayden Mandal
- QB Jayden Mandal had the longest pass of his career with a 73-yard touchdown to Ezekiel Avit in the 2Q.
- It was the longest play by the Bulldogs in the Matt Entz era, and the longest since a 75-yard touchdown pass by Mikey Keene to Mac Dalena against Sacramento State in 2024
- Mandal threw for his first career 300-yard game
- WR Ezekiel Avit had his first career 100-yard game
- Avit had 103 yards and a touchdown on just two receptions
- RB Bryson Donelson scored three rushing touchdowns in the win. It was a career-high, and his first career game with multiple rushing scores.
- Donelson recorded his third career 100-yard rushing game.
Defense Notes
- DB Simeon Harris grabbed his first interception of the season.
- Harris has seven career interceptions, the third most among active players in the FBS.
- DL Martin Owusu and Maverick Noonan led the Bulldogs’ defense with six tackles apiece.
- Owusu also added his first career sack.
- DB Gerayes Grimes got his first career start
Special Teams Notes
- K Manaki Watanabe kicked a 51-yard field goal to end the first half. It was his first career field goal as a Bulldog.
- Watanabe’s 51-yarder was the longest by a Bulldog since Sept. 2, 2023 at Purdue (Dylan Lynch - 52 yards)
- Watanabe was 2-for-2 in his field goal attempts on Saturday.
