Mike Curran enters his first year as a volunteer assistant coach for the Bulldogs.
Prior to joining the Bulldog staff, Curran was the head baseball coach at Washington Union, where he led the Panthers to a state championship in 2009. Under Curran, the Panthers won two Valley championships, two league championships and broke the school[apos]s record of wins in a season with 32 in 2010.
The last six seasons, Curran coached the California Blaze to an overall record of 262-81 and 21 tournament championships. He has coached 104 players who moved on to professional or college baseball.
Curran spent four years as the associate head coach at California Lutheran University. He helped the Kingsmen earn four-straight SCIAC titles and NCAA playoffs. At Cal Lutheran, Curran coached 29 All-SCIAC players, five All-Americans, two SCIAC Players of the Year and seven players who signed Major League Baseball contracts.
Curran played four years at California Lutheran University. During his career, Curran made four-consecutive NCAA appearances, won three SCIAC titles and made two appearances in the Division III College World Series.
Curran earned his bachelor[apos]s degree in Communication Arts from California Lutheran in 1996. He also received a master[apos]s in Education in 1999. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two boys, Michael and Matthew.
