Pace Johnson enters his first season on the Fresno State men's golf coaching staff as an intern coach, directly assisting head coach Chad Spencer.
Johnson is a Valley native that attended Clovis West High School and was a four-year golf letterwinner under the direction of head coach Tom Peel. Johnson began his collegiate career playing golf at Cal Poly (2009-11), and completed it playing at California (2011-14).
Cal Poly (2009-11) accolades/notes:
• Big West Freshman of the Year
• Recorded three second place finishes while playing for the Mustangs (each during his freshman season) - Firestone Grill College Invitational (72-71-68=211), CSUB Spring Invitational (70-70-75-215), Big West Conference Championship (68-74-76=218)
• Lowest round -- 67 (Sept. 29, 2009 at Oregon State Giustina Memorial Classic)
• Lowest 54-hole score: 211 (2x)
California (2011-14) accolades/notes:
• Competed in two national championships, one of which the Golden Bears made it to the semifinals at Riviera Country Club
• Helped Cal win two Pac-12 championships
