Haley Janzer (Perkins) completed her second year as a volunteer assistant coach for Fresno State Softball’s 2018 season. Janzer served as the team's first base coach and helped guide the program to a 31-23 to record and the program's 37th consecutive 30-win season in 2018.
Janzer, a former Fresno State softball standout from 2006-09, is on the Bulldogs’ all-time lists for career batting average (.359, 6th), hits (283, 6th), runs (189, 4th), triples (13, 8th) and stolen bases (28, 9th).
“I'm thrilled Haley has joined our staff,” Fresno State head coach Linda Garza said in 2017. “She's a Bulldog, a proven winner, and can relate firsthand about what it takes to win consistently as a player. Haley brings great energy and I'm excited to work with her.”
As an infielder for the ’Dogs, Janzer was a three-time first-team all-conference selection and four-time academic all-conference recipient. She was also named Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week twice.
Janzer is currently in the WAC record book for all-time at bats (7th), runs (5th) and hits (5th), while also leading the WAC in runs in 2007 and 2008 and hits in 2007. In 2007, she was named to the WAC All-Tournament team and in 2008, she ranked ninth in the nation in triples.
Janzer obtained her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in December 2009, followed by her master’s in kinesiology with a sport psychology option in 2012 from Fresno State.
Along with a teaching career, Janzer has coaching experience as an assistant coach for her alma mater, Clovis West High School (2010-12), an assistant coach at Fresno City College (2013, 2015), an interim co-head coach for Fresno City College (2014), and a head varsity coach for Paso Robles High School (2016).
Janzer resides in Fresno with her husband, Justin, and daughter, Sadie.
