In 2022, Fresno State ranked as high as No. 51 nationally and finished the spring season ranked in each of the final 12 ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, sponsored by Tennis-Point, which culminated with a No. 65 national ranking to close the spring. The Bulldogs earned a 4-2 win over then-No. 66 San Diego State on April 9, 2022.
Song was hired as an assistant coach by Denise Dy in February 2021.
 Â
Song graduated from Iowa State in 2016 after serving as a student assistant coach and manager for the Cyclones' women's tennis team for two seasons.
Â
Song's experience has been focused in skill and player development, while also managing tournaments and events, which has included working as a tennis director and assistant tennis professional for multiple organizations.
Â
Song also has volunteer coaching experience at Wake Forest (men's tennis) and Iowa (women's tennis).
During his time at Iowa, the Hawkeyes upset then-No. 50 Kansas State and also beat Michigan State, and were 1-0 in the Big 10 before the coronavirus pandemic abruptly ended the season.Â
And at Wake Forest, the Deacons beat then-No. 20 South Carolina and Song coached two student-athletes who upset the No. 32 and No. 118 singles players in the nation.
