Returning to the Bulldog staff as a first-year volunteer assistant coach,Hunter Knight looks forward to his fifth year working with Fresno State volleyball team in 2014.
The former team manager brings a impressive resume of club and high school experience to help the 'Dogs continue their ascent up the MW standings.
In his former work as a Fresno State team manager, he oversaw the team's DataVolley scouting and other video services for matches and practices.
At the same time, he began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Bullard High School in 2009 and '10 and helped guide the squad to the 2009 D1 Section Championship match. Since then, he has coached the Fresno Volleyball Boys 17 Gold (2010) and Girls 15 Gold (2012) squads and the Central Cal Volleyball Club 18 Silver and 17 Gold club teams (2014).
As a player, the talented opposite side hitter started for the NorCal PVL Team played in the 2013 Nor-Cal Premier Professional Indoor National Tournament, and also played on a pair of NCVF national champion teams (2009, '13). A first-team all-tourney selection in 2013, he was also an honorable mention in 2011 and '12. The 2013 CCVL All-State MVP has also been a two-time all-conference MVP (2011, '13) and four-time all-conference selection, and the four-year team Bulldog men's team captain helped the squad to NCCVL titles in 2009 and '13.
As a prep, he helped Bullard High School win the 2008 CIF Central Section and rank fifth nationally, and was selected as an All-Section First-Team honoree (2008) and two-time All-League choice (2007, '08).
