Holly Cassina joined the Fresno State Department of Athletics in August 2021 and currently serves as a Strategic Communications Coordinator.Â
In her role, Cassina serves as the primary media contact for Fresno State's men's basketball, baseball, women's volleyball and cross country programs. She has also provided communications support for women's basketball, women's tennis, swimming & diving, women's soccer, track & field and football.Â
Cassina was the primary communications contact for the Fresno State volleyball team during its 2023 Mountain West Championship season and for the Diamond 'Dogs during back-to-back Mountain West Championship campaigns in 2024 and 2025. During her time with Fresno State Athletics, she has served as the communications contact for three conference championship teams, multiple NCAA postseason appearances and numerous conference and national award winners. She has played a key role in promoting some of the department's most successful programs, leading media relations efforts, coordinating publicity campaigns and managing strategic storytelling initiatives.Â
In addition to her communications responsibilities, Cassina has extensive experience working official and talent statistics for the department's broadcast television partners and overseeing game-day communications operations. She also creates engaging digital content that connects Bulldog fans with student-athletes, coaches and fans across multiple platforms.Â
Prior to her current position, Cassina served as a Strategic Communications & Digital Media Graduate Assistant, specializing in social and digital media initiatives and special projects for the department. She began her career at Fresno State as a student intern during the 2021-22 academic year.Â
Cassina also gained professional sports experience as a Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator for the Fresno Grizzlies, the Low-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.Â
A native of Lemoore, California, Cassina earned her bachelor's degree in Media, Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast journalism from Fresno State in 2022. She later completed her master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Administration from Fresno State in 2024.
